Addiction is a mental health disorder that affects nearly 22 million men and women in the U.S. today. A residential treatment program provides full-time care in a safe and encouraging treatment facility for those with a severe addiction disrupting their daily lives from certified therapists and medical staff. People working in recovery have a primary goal to help you feel as comfortable as possible while working on your recovery.
At Arkview Recovery, we provide compassionate and effective care for men and women struggling with addiction through our residential treatment center. We employ evidence-based behavioral therapy and medication-assisted treatment to give patients a real chance at reaching their sobriety goals. What Is a Residential Treatment Program?
A residential treatment program provides full-time treatment for men and women whose addiction affects their work and personal lives. Patients live in a treatment facility for a predetermined time, typically anywhere from 30 to 90 days, while participating in behavioral and holistic therapy programs. Certified behavioral therapists work with patients to help them discover the root cause of their addiction and begin changing their negative thoughts and habits.
For patients whose withdrawal symptoms prevent them from reaching their recovery goals, medication-assisted treatment is available to reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Medical staff will administer medications and monitor progress for any adverse reactions. If any, they will make adjustments to medication plans to provide the full benefit with minimal risk. The goal of any medication-assisted treatment is to be 100% drug-free by the end of the addiction treatment program.
At Arkview Recovery Center, our residential treatment program helps men and women ready to accept help with their addiction recovery. We will perform a complete evaluation to determine the best addiction treatment program for your physical and mental health and monitor your progress to ensure you reach your sober goals.
Types of Residential Treatment Programs
While there is no cure for addiction, several types of residential treatment programs are available to help patients lead happy and productive lives without the need for drugs or alcohol. Patients develop skills and coping mechanisms to stop their negative thoughts and behaviors from disrupting their recovery process.
The types of residential treatment programs that you may participate in include:
- Drug and alcohol detox – Detoxing is the first step in the addiction recovery process. Patients take medication to reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings to focus on their recovery.
- Cognitive-behavioral therapy program – Therapists help patients uncover the feelings and emotions that fuel the addiction and learn how to change their negative thinking and habits.
- Dialectical behavior therapy program – This program focuses on self-harming behaviors and suicidal thoughts that are common with more severe cases of addiction.
- Dual diagnosis treatment program – Dual diagnosis treatment helps patients who struggle with addiction and other mental health disorders, such as depression, PTSD, and bipolar personality disorders.
